A decade ago, Amsterdam photographer Ralph Reniers began combining his vocation with his appreciation of interior design. The results are impressive. Despite admitting “honestly I don’t think about a description of my style very often,” he goes on to sum it up quite poetically. “My style breathes a hint of serenity into the atmosphere of an interior.” “The resulting image should evoke a strong desire, where the viewer wants to be a part of that kitchen space.”

Robert Tediek's design was recently photographed by Ralph to great effect. “This exclusive and bespoke kitchen by Robert Tediek Kitchens & Interior is extremely well crafted and blends in with the living area so naturally."

“In this shoot, for instance, a clean creamy soft reflection of the living room work desk caught my eye. It was perfectly composed in the beautiful minimalistic glass. Only later I realised I basically made a close-up of an oven door. ”

The white marble kitchen surfaces flow into the wall and its softly under-lit shelving, the stone’s beautiful imperfections adding a warm, organic aspect to the space. Above the sink the marble is even fluted, adding a further layer of sophistication to the already opulent material. The Gaggenau 400 series oven in Anthracite blends in with the dark wood cabinetry and elevates the space while the matching flex induction with integrated ventilation removes the need for any large, intrusive extractor in the open plan room. A slender, white tube of light is all that descends from the ceiling.

With his photographer’s eye and wide experience of kitchen interiors, Ralph knows what to look for. “When I get closer to details, craftmanship starts showing itself.” And he is quick to give credit to those who make his job easier.

“I aim to work with the best tools available, taking time to create the highest quality work I can. So working with clients and partners that have similar values like Gaggenau and Robert Tediek always results in unique and impactful images.”

Ralph is a seasoned professional who knows what his images are expected to convey, however the reason his work is so effective may well be because of his approach. “Although it’s important to show a kitchen functionally, honestly, I always start with looking for aesthetic beauty that catches my eye and see where I end up.
